Position Information
Job Title Grounds Maintenance Perkinston - Pool Job Description
GENERAL STATEMENT OF FUNCTION: The Grounds Maintenance will provide landscaping of exterior areas of campus to ensure a clean, safe and professional appearance at all times. The grounds maintenance person will report to the Assistant Superintendent of Support Services, Building and Grounds.
Job Duties
1. Work under direction of immediate supervisor and perform all duties as assigned.
2. Accountable for all tools, equipment and supplies issued.
3. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
4. Perform all duties observing safety procedures and utilizing proper equipment (safety glasses, gloves, tags, etc.)
5. Responsible for the appearance and cleanliness of campus landscaping.
6. Assist with the movement of equipment and furniture as well as setup and tear-down for campus functions.
7. Responsible for adhering to established procedures.
8. Remove debris and other items from flower beds and exterior areas of campus.
9. Work with other personnel as assigned.
10. Work on weekends, holidays, evening/nights and all other hours as required.
11. Mow all areas of campus, trim bushes, trim trees, etc., as needed.
12. Ensure all safety procedures are followed while using commercial mowers, weed eaters, and landscaping equipment.
13. Adhere to all college policies and procedures.
Mandatory Qualifications
(M1) High School Diploma or High School Equivalency.
(M2) Valid Driver's License and must remain in good standing while employed.
(M3) Landscaping/exterior yard work experience.
(M4) Ability to communicate effectively with college personnel and students.
Desirable Qualifications
(D1) Experience using commercial mowers.
(D2) Experience in a professional/education work setting.
