Position Overview

Sentara Wellness Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our expanding team. Work Environment

As a part of our outpatient facility, you will have the flexibility of working remotely while engaging with clients through virtual sessions. Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a positive, trusting relationship with clients to foster open communication.
• Conduct thorough assessments to diagnose mental health disorders and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique circumstances.
• Lead regular therapy sessions with individuals and couples, utilizing various therapeutic techniques tailored to the needs of each client.
• Monitor patient progress through ongoing assessments and adjust treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
• Referral of clients to specialists when needed, ensuring they receive comprehensive care across different service areas.
• Engage in collaborative treatment with other mental health professionals, enhancing the multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
• Participate in staff meetings and workshops to stay current on best practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In your role as an LMFT at Sentara Wellness Center, you will work with a diverse clientele facing a range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and family dynamics. You will support clients of various ages and backgrounds, implementing culturally competent approaches to therapy that respect the individuality and uniqueness of each person. Our patient-centered focus ensures that clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make positive changes in their lives.

Qualifications

• A valid and active license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of evidence-based practices in mental health treatment.
• Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to motivate and inspire clients.
• Demonstrated teamwork skills, optimizing collaboration with colleagues in a remote setting.

Preferred Experience

• Specialized training or experience in addiction counseling, enabling effective support for clients with co-occurring disorders.
• Familiarity with integrated treatment models that address behavioral health within the context of broader health outcomes.
• Previous experience working in a remote or teletherapy capacity is beneficial but not required.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers an attractive salary range of USD 70,000 to 90,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience. In addition to monetary compensation, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
