Job Title:Staff Accountant at Metro ElevatorLocation: Palm Beach Gardens, Florida - This is primarily an in-office role, but hybrid flexibility is possible after training and demonstrated proficiency.Overview:At Metro Elevator, our accounting team ensures accuracy, consistency, and confidence in every number we report. We're looking for a Staff Accountant who is detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about delivering timely, accurate financial information across multiple Metro divisions.This role is ideal for someone who thrives on organization and collaboration - supporting our accounting processes, maintaining balance sheet integrity, and ensuring compliance across entities. You'll play an important part in our month-end close process, reconciliations, and reporting functions while working closely with both divisional teams and leadership.Employment Status/Expectations:Full TimeKey Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):Core Accounting DutiesReconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts for Metro Elevator divisions. Assist divisions with accounting support and resolving complex transactional issues.Prepare and post month-end journal entries, including: unearned prepaid expenses, paid vs. worked days, interest earned, depreciation, bonus accruals, and holiday accrualsEnsure accurate and timely month-end close by maintaining checklists, identifying discrepancies early, and coordinating with divisional teams to resolve issues.Maintain organized workpapers and supporting documentation for internal review and audit.Collaboration and ReportingWork closely with the Assistant Controller to ensure all accounting deadlines, deliverables, and reporting requirements are met.Partner with Metro division administrative teams to promote consistency, enforce accounting policies, and maintain uniform processes across all Metro entities.Support both internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and responding to auditor inquiries.Assist in compiling monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for management review.Contribute to process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to automate or streamline accounting workflows.Qualifications / Skills & Competencies:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)1–4 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or accounting operationsStrong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.Experience with reconciliations and journal entriesProficiency in Excel (comfortable working in spreadsheets daily)Self-motivated, trainable, and eager to learnExperience supporting multiple entities or business unitsFamiliarity with accounting systems and expense management toolsOrganized and deadline-drivenHigh attention to detail and accuracy.Strong organizational and time management skills.Collaborative mindset and clear communication skills.Compensation and Benefits:Salary commensurate with qualificationsHealth, dental and vision insurancePaid time off401k plan with employer matching contribution Equal Opportunity Employer:Metro Elevator is committed to providing reasonable accommodation as an Equal Opportunity Employer to applicants with disabilities.
