Job description

Nashville General Hospital is hiring for a full-time, Day shift Registered Nurse (RN) for our Forensic Unit in Nashville, TN. 

This is an 18-bed unit with a 4:1 patient ratio

As a Forensic RN, you will be responsible for:
  • Administering medication and treatments
  • Admitting and assessing patients
  • Monitoring vital signs and symptoms
  • Running and ordering tests
  • Coordinating care with Physicians and Specialists
  • Charting Patient Progress
Required Skills & Qualifications: 
  • Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree, Diploma or Baccalaureate Degree program in Nursing preferred.
  • Possess a current licensure or permit to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee or compact state.
  • BLS required, ACLS preferred.
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development necessary for assessment, range of treatment and care of forensic patients ranging from adult through geriatrics.
  • Knowledge of hospital and department policies and procedures, patient care procedures, and the ability to operate technical equipment as acquired through orientation. In addition, a working knowledge of TN Department of Corrections and Davidson County Sheriff’s Office policy and procedures when interacting with forensic patients preferred.
