Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer - NYC Metro
Location (Remote): New York City Metro
About the Role
HPE Networking is transforming enterprise networking with AI-driven solutions that power modern campuses, branches, data centers, and cloud environments. We're looking for a customer-focused Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer to support enterprise customers across the NYC Metro region.
In this role, you'll partner with Territory Managers to understand customer challenges, architect innovative networking solutions, deliver technical presentations and Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and help drive opportunities from qualification through successful deployment. This is an excellent opportunity for a consultative technical leader who enjoys solving complex customer problems while influencing strategic technology decisions.
What You'll Do
  • Partner with Territory Managers to identify, qualify, and advance enterprise sales opportunities.
  • Design and present networking solutions that align with customer business and technical requirements.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions, demonstrations, and customer Proof of Concepts (PoCs).
  • Develop solution architectures, proposals, and technical documentation.
  • Position HPE Networking solutions against competitive offerings by articulating business and technical value.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle, from opportunity identification through deal closure.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product teams, and channel partners to deliver successful customer outcomes.
  • Stay current on emerging networking technologies and industry trends.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 8+ years of networking experience in a pre-sales, post-sales, consulting, or systems engineering role.
  • Strong expertise in enterprise networking technologies, including:
    • Routing & Switching
    • Wireless Networking
    • Network Security
    • SASE / SD-WAN
    • Data Center Networking
    • Network Management Platforms (on-premises and cloud)
  • Experience with network access security solutions such as Aruba ClearPass, Juniper Access Assurance, Cisco ISE, or similar platforms.
  • Industry certifications such as HPE/Aruba, Juniper, Cisco, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Excellent customer-facing communication, presentation, and consultative selling skills.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value for customers.
  • Experience supporting complex enterprise sales engagements in competitive environments.

Location & Travel
  • Must reside in or be willing to support customers throughout the NYC Metro region.
  • Ability to travel locally within the territory as needed for customer meetings, presentations, and Proof of Concepts.
