Job description

Vision Point Systems, Inc. is currently recruiting for a talented, innovative Senior Engineer to manage efforts for its Navy/USMC Corrosion Prevention and Control RDT&E efforts. This position is housed in our Fairfax, VA office but qualified candidates must being able to work onsite at various federal laboratories in the DC Metro area, when required. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Laboratory test plan development
  • Conduct experiments methodically, analyze data and interpret results
  • Identify, formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging problems
  • Estimate budget and scope of project
  • Field investigation
  • Prepare product reports and documentation
  • Data analysis
  • Technical writing

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, or other similar engineering degree from an accredited university or college is required and 7+ years of functional engineering experience. OR:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, or other similar engineering degree from an accredited university or college is required and 14+ years of functional engineering experience.
  • Qualified candidate must 1+ years of experience with demonstrated aptitude with project management.
  • The candidate must have demonstrated professional writing and presentation skills along with an excellent ability to collaborate with a team.
  • Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Requires US Citizenship
  • Must be willing to work in various labs in the DC metro area on a regular and irregular basis depending upon customer requirements.
  • Must collaborate and work well with multi-faceted teams.
  • Candidate should demonstrate skills where they can influence team members with or without a reporting relationship.
  • Must be solutions oriented.
  • Must be able to think through complex problems

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with and supporting US Navy, Army, and/or US Marine Corps programs is highly desired.
  • Technical expertise in materials science/engineering (especially corrosion and coatings), electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and military vehicles and ships is desired.
  • Experience with data analysis and statistics is a plus.
