Position Summary

The Mobility Assistance Vehicle Operator (MAVO) provides safe, professional, and courteous transportation for patients who require mobility assistance. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our patients experience comfort, dignity, and reliability during every ride. MAVOs operate Metro Ambulance vehicles in accordance with company policy, state regulations, and safety standards while maintaining a strong focus on customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate mobility-assistance vehicles to transport patients to and from healthcare facilities, residences, and appointments.

  • Assist patients with entering and exiting vehicles safely using proper lifting and mobility techniques.

  • Maintain a professional, compassionate, and service-oriented approach with all patients, caregivers, and facility staff.

  • Follow dispatch instructions and complete assignments in a timely manner.

  • Ensure all medical supplies and equipment are properly stocked, maintained, and sanitized.

  • Accurately document trip and patient information according to company standards.

  • Adhere to all company safety policies and Department of Transportation regulations.

Qualifications
  • Valid MAVO Certification (required)

  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record

  • Current CPR/BLS certification

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Ability to lift up to 125 pounds with proper body mechanics

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Professional, reliable, and punctual
