VAN DRIVER (8 Positions Available)

The van driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school and school-related programs using district-owned vans or other approved district vehicles. Routes may include transportation within Eden Prairie Schools and throughout the Twin Cities metro area. Students transported may include students with special needs requiring patience, professionalism, and consistent support. This position follows a split-shift schedule with morning and afternoon route responsibilities and offers a minimum guarantee of 3.5 hours per day. No Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required. Paid training is provided.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience working with children or students preferred
  • Experience transporting passengers or driving professionally preferred
  • Experience working with students with special needs preferred

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment 5-panel drug screening
  • Subject to district Non-DOT random drug and alcohol testing requirements
  • Ability to obtain required district certifications
  • Ability to work split shifts between morning and afternoon routes
  • Ability to safely operate vans and district vehicles in varying traffic and weather
    conditions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with students and families
