Job description

Position Summary

Metalsa is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician with advanced HVAC expertise to support safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations. This role is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and/or replacement of facility systems to ensure uninterrupted production and a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and environmental controls
  • Diagnose issues and complete repair and/or replacement of HVAC components, equipment, and related systems
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace electrical systems, lighting, pumps, boilers, and general facility infrastructure
  • Support building automation systems (BAS), fire alarms, emergency lighting, security systems, and backup power systems
  • Complete general facility maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, carpentry, and facility upkeep
  • Diagnose equipment failures, document maintenance activities, and recommend improvements to reduce downtime
  • Follow all safety protocols, quality standards, and company policies
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts and support facility efficiency initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Master HVAC license (or state-recognized equivalent), in good standing
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or large commercial facility maintenance preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Commitment to safety, reliability, and quality workmanship
