Job Description:

This is a full-time on-site NDT Level III RT/PT, Quality Engineering Specialist role located in Redmond, WA. The NDT Level III RT/PT, Quality Engineering Specialist will be responsible for conducting quality control and assurance checks, managing NDT ย processes and technicians, performing NDT processes, and utilizing analytical skills to ensure product integrity.

Essential Functions:

  • Review supplier-submitted NDT technique sheets for compliance to AR Redmond specifications and drawing requirements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers on the development and approval of these technique sheets. Prepare necessary reports.
  • Manage site NDT supply base by monitoring suppliers to ensure flow down of AR requirements to sub-tier suppliers, audit existing NDT suppliers and assess potential new NDT suppliers for their ability to meet site requirements.
  • Review process specifications, in-house technique sheets, etc. as noted above under job responsibilities.
  • Provide training and testing to trainees through L II.
  • Develop, review and approve NDT techniques with L II personnel.
  • Write, review and approve specifications pertinent to NDT.
  • Support review boards for inspectability of product.
  • Prepare NDT for customer and internal audits.
  • Develop and Lead Corrective action reviews on audit/NCR findings.
  • Maintain/own L III certifications.
  • Participate in the direction of the NDT department.
  • Audit and surveillance of quality systems and processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior related Quality experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 7 years of prior related Quality experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related Quality experience.
  • Current ASNT NDT Level III Certification
  • NDT LVL III RT (Radiography) and PT (Penetrant) certifications.
  • MDT LVL III DR (Digital Radiography) and/or UT (Ultrasonic) certification
  • 7+ years experience creating, reviewing and approving technique sheets for radiology and penetrant methods
  • 7+ years experience providing direction to lower level NDT technicians
  • 7+ years working closely with NDE's and weld specialists to solve problems and provide a path forwardย 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Direct experience with the testing of Aerospace Metallic products.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Seattle and Washington State,ย  the salary range for this role is $94,000 - $175,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
