Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Metal Sorter to join our team. The Metal Sorter will play a crucial role in the sorting process within our facility, ensuring that materials are accurately categorized and prepared for further processing. This position requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to operate heavy equipment, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Duties

  • Operate heavy equipment such as front loader trucks and forklifts to assist in the sorting process.
  • Sort materials based on type, size, and condition, ensuring proper categorization for recycling or disposal.
  • Perform heavy lifting as needed to move materials safely and efficiently.
  • Sanitate work areas regularly to maintain cleanliness and comply with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and address any operational challenges.
  • Assist in loading/unloading sorted materials onto trucks for transportation or further processing.
  • Follow all safety protocols while operating equipment and handling materials.

Skills

  • Proficiency in heavy equipment operation, including front loader trucks and forklifts.
  • Experience with roll off truck operations is a plus.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and engage in physical labor throughout the shift.
