Job description

Position: Pallet Sorter (Level 3) – 2nd Shift RQH
Department: Shipping/ Receiving
Hours: 3:30pm – Shift End (hours may vary)
Starting Rate of Pay: $21.00/hour + $1.00/hour shift premium
Request Foods believes that each employee makes a significant contribution to the success of our company. That contribution includes but is not limited to the assigned responsibilities. This position description is designed to outline primary duties, qualifications and job scope, but does not limit the individual or the organization only to the work identified. It is Request Foods expectation that each member will offer his/her services wherever and whenever necessary to ensure the success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for repairing pallets, including the sorting of pallets and the re-stacking of bins.
  • Maintain the Shipping amp; Receiving docks in an orderly fashion.
  • Responsible for the daily housekeeping duties of the warehouse (sweeping of the warehouse floors, wiping of the racks, re-stack of inventory materials, etc.).
  • Clean and maintain battery area.
  • Monitor batteries by making sure batteries are fully charged and watered.
  • Help maintain warehouse free from NR’s issued by USDA inspector.
  • Perform heavy lifting following approved methods to avoid injury.
  • Ensure all safety procedures are followed for forklift/ order picker operations, product and ingredient storage (including load capacity), and other work practices to avoid and eliminate workplace hazards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications/ Education/ Skills
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Forklift certified or ability to obtain forklift certification.
  • Must have proficient math skills.

  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with others.
  • Good organizational skills and detailed oriented.
