Job description

The Metal Shop Material Handler is an integral member of the metal shop team that supports production and distribution of products ensuring that each work center is supplied with the appropriate work when needed. The Metal Shop Material Handler reports directly to the Materials Manager but is tied closely to the Zone Leaders in the Metal Shop.
Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities
• Have a high-level knowledge and understanding of the daily schedule for each of the Metal Shop work centers.
• Loading and changing over the sheet steel materials at the lasers.
• Moving cut and bent components to appropriate downstream work centers as needed.
• Move painted finished goods from the end of the paint line to the warehouse staging area.
• Emptying of steel scrap dumpsters as needed.
• Unloading of trucks received in the metal shop docks.
• Loading of steel sheet cartridges onto supplier return truck.
• Additional tasks as required by Metal Shop Zone Leaders and Materials Manager.
