Job description

Elmira Stamping & Manufacturing is seeking a skilled and dependable Punch Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate heavy-duty mechanical and hydraulic power presses to produce high-quality, precision metal stampings and components.The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.Position ResponsibilitiesSafely and efficiently operate mechanical and hydraulic punch presses.Monitor machine performance and make real-time adjustments as needed.Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and production specifications.Perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring equipment.Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards.Identify, troubleshoot, and correct defects or production deviations.Maintain accurate production records and required documentation.Perform routine machine cleaning, maintenance, and housekeeping.Report equipment malfunctions or mechanical concerns to Maintenance.Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and established production practices.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.Qualifications & SkillsPrevious punch press or metal stamping experience preferred.Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.Previous forklift experience preferred.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical manufacturing tasks.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team.ScheduleRegular Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PMSummer Hours: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PMCompensation$17.00–$20.00 per hourStarting wage will be based on the selected candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.BenefitsElmira Stamping & Manufacturing is committed to providing a comprehensive benefits package designed to support our employees and their families.
