Job Title: Precision Grinding Machine Operator

Location: Oxnard, CA

Position Overview

We are seeking a Precision Grinding Machine Operator to support manufacturing operations by setting up and operating surface and rotary grinding equipment. This role is responsible for producing precision metal components to customer specifications, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring efficient production in a machine shop environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate surface grinding and rotary grinding equipment
  • Grind metal components to required dimensions and thickness specifications
  • Inspect workpieces using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other measuring tools
  • Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, work orders, and production specifications
  • Adjust machine settings, feed rates, grinding depths, and wheel positions to maintain tolerances
  • Monitor grinding operations and make necessary adjustments throughout production runs
  • Verify material dimensions and quality before, during, and after machining
  • Replace grinding wheels and perform routine machine maintenance as required
  • Record completed production, scrap, and inventory information in ShopTrak or similar systems
  • Communicate production status, priorities, and quality concerns with supervisors and team members
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Follow all company safety policies and quality standards
