Job Description:
Pay Range: $20.97hr - $23.97hr
  • The Forge Hammer Helper I supports forging operations by assisting with handling metal parts, operating equipment, and maintaining production workflow.
  • The role involves supporting hammer operations, preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety and quality standards are followed throughout the forging process.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment according to safety standards.
  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions and documentation.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to fifty pounds.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing or industrial environment with high noise levels and mechanical equipment.
Experience:
  • Six to twelve months of related experience or training in manufacturing or industrial operations.
  • Experience supporting production or metal fabrication processes preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or similar equipment preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Transfer and lift metal parts to and from workstations including furnace, hammer, and anvil using appropriate tools or manipulators.
  • Place punches on parts to support hole punching operations.
  • Rotate, turn, and flip metal parts during hammer operations using shears, bolsters, and levers.
  • Remove scale from workpieces and dies and mark materials with specified identification using metal stamps.
  • Apply lubricants such as graphite and coal throughout the forging process.
  • Measure rough and finished parts using measuring tools to ensure proper fit and specifications.
  • Conduct setup of sizing equipment used during the forging process.
  • Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and manipulators as required.
  • Grind surfaces of finished parts using portable and stationary power grinders.
  • Maintain housekeeping and ensure a clean and organized workstation.
  • Follow company procedures, work instructions, and safety policies at all times.
