Job description

Position Summary

This position involves processing aerospace and commercial metal components through various chemical finishing operations including chem film, anodizing, passivation, etching, cleaning, rinsing, drying, and part handling. Operator must be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, handling chemicals safely, lifting heavy parts, and following detailed processing instructions and specifications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

-Perform metal finishing and chemical processing operations including:

-Chem Film / Conversion Coating

-Anodizing

-Passivation

-Etching and Cleaning

-Rinsing and Drying Operations

-Rack and de-rack parts for processing while preventing damage to customer products.

-Lift, move, and handle large or heavy metal parts safely.

-Operate hoists, rinse stations, drying equipment, and processing tanks.

-Follow work instructions, travelers, blueprints, and customer specifications.

-Monitor processing times and ensure parts move through required processing sequences correctly.

-Perform visual inspections for cosmetic quality and processing defects.

-Maintain cleanliness and organization of tanks, work areas, racks, and equipment.

-Complete required production and quality documentation accurately.

-Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and hazardous material handling procedures.

-Assist with packaging and preparation of finished parts for shipment.

-Support general shop operations and production needs as assigned.

Physical Requirements

-Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.

-Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds regularly.

-Ability to work around chemical tanks, heat, moisture, and industrial equipment.

-Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, aprons, goggles, respirators, and face shields when required.

-Comfortable performing repetitive lifting, racking, and material handling tasks.

Qualifications

-Manufacturing or metal finishing experience preferred but not required.

-Experience in anodizing, chem film, passivation, plating, or aerospace processing is a plus.

-Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

-Strong attention to detail and quality.

-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

-Reliable attendance and punctuality required.

-Forklift or hoist experience is a plus.

Preferred Experience

-Aerospace metal finishing environment

-NADCAP or MIL-SPEC processing familiarity

-Chemical handling and shop safety procedures
