Job description

Omni Glass & Paint is hiring a full-time Metal Panel Carpenter to join our skilled construction team. Since 1967, we've built a strong reputation across Wisconsin for quality commercial glass installation in schools, hospitals, office buildings, storefronts, and more. This full-time position offers competitive pay, steady work, and opportunities for long-term growth. As a Metal Panel Carpenter, you'll work with experienced tradespeople on a wide variety of commercial construction projects across Wisconsin.
What You'll Do
  • Follow established safety rules and maintain a safe, organized worksite.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications to determine layout, dimensions, and materials.
  • Measure, mark, and cut metal panels, flashings, and furring channels using appropriate tools (hand tools, power tools, and metal cutting equipment)
  • Install metal wall panels, flashings, furring systems, and insulation according to project requirements.
  • Fasten and secure metal components using screws, rivets, clips, and other hardware.
  • Verify alignment, plumb, and level of installed panels and structures.
  • Inspect installed panels and related components for defects or damage and perform necessary repairs.
  • Erect scaffolding or use lifts for work at elevated heights.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Remove and replace damaged or defective metal components.
  • Coordinate with other trades and subcontractors as needed.
  • Ensure proper sealing and weatherproofing of metal wall systems.
  • Operate drills, saws, and other metal fabrication tools safely and efficiently.
  • Attend and participate in worksite progress meetings
  • Prepare cost estimates for labor and materials when required.

To perform job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High school diploma or equivalent - Required
  • At least 2-5 years of commercial carpentry, faรงade installation, or related work. - Preferred
  • Must have a valid driver's license and drive company vehicles with courtesy and according to all laws - Required
  • Ability to measure and cut metal and framing materials with precision - Required
  • Skilled use of hand tools, power tools, and metal fabrication tools - Required
  • Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization - Required
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiple, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals - Required
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form - Required
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift 50+ lbs. - Required
  • Experience working on construction sites with multiple subcontractor trades. - Required
