Job description

Job Summary:
AIG is a global leader in commercial and personal insurance solutions, and they are seeking an Enterprise Metadata Architect to maintain the enterprise metadata architecture and catalog of catalogs. The role involves enforcing metadata standards, managing the enterprise catalog environment, and ensuring metadata quality and governance across the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Design and maintain the enterprise metadata architecture supporting the organization’s catalog-of-catalogs environment.
• Enforce metadata standards.
• Work with Data Architecture and Engineering to collect, ingest, and harmonize across heterogeneous metadata sources.
• Ensure the enterprise catalog remains aligned with enterprise data architecture and semantic models defined by the data architecture function.
• Work with the Data Management Platform Lead to configure and manage the enterprise catalog implemented on Informatica Cloud Data Governance and Catalog.
• Design and maintain the enterprise catalog asset model, including: metadata object types, attributes and metadata schemas, hierarchical relationships, classification structures, domain organization.
• Manage metadata ingestion pipelines from multiple platforms including data platforms, modeling tools, and operational systems.
• Support onboarding new metadata sources into the catalog environment.
• Enforce enterprise metadata standards and taxonomy structures.
• Establish governance processes for metadata lifecycle management including creation, certification, stewardship, and retirement.
• Ensure metadata assets comply with enterprise governance policies and standards.
• Design and implement metadata quality controls to ensure catalog accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Define metrics and monitoring processes to assess metadata quality across domains.
• Support the design integration patterns that allow enterprise metadata to be consumed by downstream applications including data platforms, analytics environments, and governance tools.
• Help maintain metadata synchronization mechanisms and crosswalks across heterogeneous metadata sources.
• Support automation of metadata ingestion, lineage capture, and metadata propagation.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 7-10 years experience in metadata management or data management
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Information Systems or related field.
• A Master’s degree is highly desirable.
• Proven experience working with data catalogs, preferably Informatica Cloud Data Management.
• Experience integrating data catalog with multiple database management systems and file storage technologies.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python.
• Experience in designing and managing taxonomies and asset models for managing metadata.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with Agile.
Preferred:
• Insurance or financial services experience is nice to have.
