Position Title : Data Integration Specialist
Position Overview
Barbaricum is seeking a Data Integration Specialist to support the integration, transformation, and governance of data across cloud and on-premises environments. This role will be instrumental in enabling interoperability, data lineage, metadata management, and enterprise analytics capabilities that support USSOUTHCOM operational and intelligence missions.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, manage, and optimize ETL and ELT workflows.
  • Integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple enterprise sources.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, integrity, and interoperability across platforms.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines supporting cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Implement metadata management and data lineage capabilities.
  • Support enterprise data governance initiatives.
  • Design and maintain API-based integrations between systems and applications.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, analysts, and mission stakeholders.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data ingestion and transformation processes.
  • Develop technical documentation and standard operating procedures.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Management, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
  • Five (5) years of equivalent professional experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing ETL workflows.
  • Experience integrating data from multiple enterprise systems and sources.
  • Experience ensuring data quality, consistency, and governance.
  • Experience with Apache NiFi, Databricks, and SQL-based data warehouse technologies.
  • Experience with API development and system integration.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture and schema management.

Desired Qualifications
  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP).
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate.
  • Experience supporting Combatant Commands, Intelligence Community, or Joint environments.
  • Experience with cloud-native data platforms and analytics services.
  • Familiarity with knowledge graphs, data catalogs, and metadata management platforms.
  • Experience implementing enterprise data governance frameworks.
