Job Description

Position: Pentaho Administrator

Location: Washington, DC

Duration: 6-12Months

About the Job:

Administer Pentaho Environments in Dev, Test and Production domains.

Work with Support to solve various Pentaho issues faced by Team,

Work on Performance issues in Pentaho.

Design and optimize data mart schemes in order to handle the dimensions and measures required

Create Schemas using Pentaho Infrastructure for Reporting & Analytics

Serve as sole subject matter expert in the development of business intelligence reports and analysis

Research and integrate external data sources into USACs OLTP and Data Mart environment

Manage reporting environment including report data sources, security, subscriptions and metadata

Assist in data normalization and data integrity initiatives across the enterprise

Assist Data Warehouse Engineers in identifying and revising enterprise reporting requirements

Evaluate, test and implement new or upgraded software

Troubleshoot reported problems pertaining to reports and the reporting database environment, working closely with other IT members, especially DBAs, Systems Analysts and Systems Engineers, identifying the cause and designing or developing an approach for resolution

Assess impact of changes and updates to source production systems, planning and implementing resulting changes to reports

Work directly with business owners and analysts in the development of requirements and user stories for data solutions

Assist with the development of data related APIs for the exposure of USAC data to external customers

Conduct end user training on reporting system

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge of Relational Databases; Knowledge of Columnar Databases or columnar storage; SQL Programming; Pentaho Administration; ETL Management; Data Modelling; Data warehousing; SQL Server Management Studio; SQL Server Integration Services; SQL Server Analysis Services; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Access; Microsoft Visio; Microsoft SharePoint 2007 or above

NOTE: In addition, please list any desired experience:

Microsoft SQL Server 2012/2014; HP Vertica; Amazon Redshift; Pentaho Install/Configuration/Administration; Pentaho Deployments; Pentaho BI Suite; Pentaho PDI; Any other BI Tools like Business Objects, Cognos etc.; Team Foundation Server; Erwin; TOAD for Oracle; Creating visual displays for data analysis and presentation
