Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a highly experienced Energy Marshal to support a large-scale mission-critical construction project. This position serves as the lead authority for electrical energy management, ensuring safe execution of all energization, commissioning, startup, and energy isolation activities throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in electrical systems, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) administration, commissioning operations, and electrical safety compliance. This individual will collaborate with project teams, safety personnel, trade partners, and commissioning groups to ensure all energized work is performed safely and efficiently while maintaining strict compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and client safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical safety and energy management efforts on-site.
  • Establish and oversee Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and energy isolation programs.
  • Coordinate electrical switching and energization activities.
  • Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for energized work.
  • Support commissioning, startup, testing, and turnover activities.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations and project-specific standards.
  • Partner with construction, operations, commissioning, and safety teams to maintain safe work practices.
  • Conduct safety audits, reviews, and electrical hazard assessments.
  • Drive continuous improvement in electrical safety performance and operational readiness.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience supporting electrical systems on large-scale construction projects.
  • Background as a licensed electrician, electrical foreman, superintendent, commissioning professional, or electrical SME.
  • Experience within mission-critical environments including data centers, healthcare, industrial, manufacturing, power generation, or utility infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, commissioning processes, switching procedures, and energy isolation practices.
  • Proven experience creating and managing Lockout/Tagout programs.
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E standards, and arc flash safety requirements.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders in complex construction environments.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Hyperscale data center projects (Microsoft, AWS, Google, Meta, etc.).
  • Electrical commissioning/startup experience.
  • OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, or related electrical safety certifications.
  • Military electrical experience.
