Job Description

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Cable and Harness Technician I to join the Harness Manufacturing team at its Gilbert Manufacturing Center. The technician will manufacture cable and wire harness assemblies while ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, work instructions, quality standards, and ISO procedures. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience in electrical assembly within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacture and assemble cable and wire harness products.
  • Read and interpret work instructions, schematics, wiring diagrams, wire lists, and engineering drawings.
  • Perform electrical assembly, wire routing, termination, crimping, and harness installation.
  • Follow IPC/WHMA-A-620 and NASA J-STD workmanship standards.
  • Maintain ESD-safe handling procedures for sensitive electronic components.
  • Perform quality inspections to ensure compliance with manufacturing specifications.
  • Complete production documentation and maintain accurate manufacturing records.
  • Adhere to ISO procedures, production schedules, and safety requirements.
  • Communicate production status and technical issues to shop leads and management.
  • Support continuous improvement and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical assembly, wiring, manufacturing, production, or electronics.
  • Experience reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Hands-on experience with cable and wire harness assembly.
  • Experience with ESD handling and crimping techniques.
  • Ability to obtain IPC/WHMA-A-620 and NASA J-STD certifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical Trade School certification.
  • Current IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification.
  • Current NASA J-STD certification.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), workflow management, electronic signoff, and production documentation.
