This role requires hands-on experience with MES applications, database administration (DBA), and production support to proactively monitor system health, troubleshoot complex application and database issues, and perform root cause analysis to minimize production downtime. The engineer will work closely with manufacturing, automation, infrastructure, and development teams to ensure seamless factory operations, maintain data integrity, and support continuous system optimization.

The ideal candidate is a mid-level engineer with experience supporting enterprise manufacturing systems, strong SQL and database troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage production incidents in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide operational and technical support for the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) during second-shift manufacturing operations, ensuring high system availability, reliability, and production continuity.
  • Monitor MES applications, database performance, system interfaces, and production transactions in real time to proactively identify, analyze, and resolve potential issues before they impact manufacturing operations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex MES, database, application, and interface issues affecting production, quality, equipment connectivity, and data integrity.
  • Perform SQL analysis, query optimization, database performance tuning, and root cause analysis (RCA) to improve application performance and resolve production-related issues.
  • Support database administration activities, including performance monitoring, backup and recovery validation, data integrity verification, and routine database maintenance.

  • Partner with Global HQ MES development and support teams to investigate critical production incidents, validate system enhancements, support deployments, and implement continuous process improvements.
  • Participate in on-call production support and provide after-hours incident response as needed to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations and business continuity.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3–5 years of experience supporting MES or manufacturing systems in a production environment.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and operations.
  • Experience developing or supporting applications using C#, Java, and SQL.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with Production, Engineering, Infrastructure, and cross-functional IT teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience performing root cause analysis (RCA) and troubleshooting complex application, database, and production issues.
  • Experience supporting system integrations between MES and enterprise applications (e.g., ERP, equipment interfaces, QMS, EMS).
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, database performance analysis, query optimization, and production support.
  • Experience with software deployment, change management, and production release validation.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
