Job description

The Sales Account Manager is responsible for driving business growth and maintaining strong customer relationships within the pharmaceutical sector across the assigned territory, primarily the U.S. East Coast, with potential expansion into Mexico and South America. This role focuses on pharmaceutical packaging machinery solutions, requiring a strategic, compliance-driven, and customer-focused approach to sales and account management. 

We are seeking a highly motivated, hunter-minded individual who thrives on identifying new opportunities, opening doors, and building strategic relationships from the ground up. The ideal candidate is energized by prospecting, excels in consultative selling, and is passionate about expanding market presence in the pharmaceutical machinery space. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and manage pharmaceutical customer accounts to meet sales targets and budget goals. 

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, prospecting, and industry networking. 

  • Maintain and grow existing relationships by understanding regulatory and operational needs and delivering tailored machinery solutions. 

  • Collaborate with internal engineering, validation, and regulatory teams to ensure customer requirements are met and projects are executed successfully. 

  • Resolve customer issues by investigating concerns, proposing compliant solutions, and communicating outcomes. 

  • Represent the company professionally, acting as a liaison between pharmaceutical clients and internal departments. 

  • Stay informed on pharmaceutical industry trends, competitor offerings, and technological advancements. 

  • Provide regular updates to management through call reports, territory analyses, and itineraries. 

  • Support Accounts Receivable and Customer Service teams to minimize aged invoices and inventory. 

  • Perform additional duties and contribute to strategic initiatives as assigned. 

Pharmaceutical Packaging Focus: 

  • Promote machinery solutions that support tamper-evident packaging, serialization, and cleanroom compatibility. 

  • Ensure equipment meets FDA, GMP, and ISO standards for pharmaceutical packaging. 

  • Understand and communicate the benefits of machinery features such as aseptic processing, traceability, and modular cleanroom integration. 

  • Stay current on innovations like smart sensors, automated inspection systems, and Industry 4.0 integrations. 

Pressure-Sensitive Labeling in Pharma – Linear & Carousel Systems Focus: 

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for pressure-sensitive labeling machinery, with emphasis on both Linear and Carousel (Rotary) system solutions tailored to pharmaceutical applications. 

  • Promote Linear systems for high-speed, continuous labeling of uniform containers, ideal for streamlined production environments with minimal changeover. 

  • Highlight Carousel systems for complex labeling needs, offering multi-station flexibility, precise label placement, and compatibility with irregular or fragile containers. 

  • Ensure solutions meet serialization, traceability, and tamper-evident requirements in compliance with FDA and GMP standards. 

  • Communicate the advantages of modular design, inspection integration, and adaptability to cleanroom environments. 

  • Stay current on innovations such as servo-driven applicators, vision inspection systems, and integration with MES/ERP platforms. 

  • Emphasize our leadership in the industry for auto-injector medical device labeling, showcasing proven success and advanced capabilities in this specialized segment. 

Education: 

  • University degree or diploma is preferred in Packaging, Engineering, Electronics, Life Sciences, or related fields. 

Experience: 

  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience, ideally in pharmaceutical or regulated packaging industries. 

  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical packaging machinery, especially pressure-sensitive labeling technologies. 

  • Experience working with top-tier pharmaceutical manufacturers and contract packaging organizations (CPOs).
