Teaching andAcademic Programs(TAP) is seeking candidates for a graduate studentassistantposition related to teaching and learning in higher education to assist with instructor support programming (e.g., workshops, learning exchanges, resource development)and work on a variety of projects in support of related initiatives at McGill. This position is open tomaster's and Doctoral students who are interested in developing their knowledge of and skills in teaching and learning in higher education. The successful applicant will contribute to a range of activities planned and implemented by a team of educational developers and other professional staff at TAP.

This position is for approximately 10 hours per week, startingWednesday,Sept.9, 2026.

Job summary:As the position is to support a variety of projects, specific roles and duties will vary depending on the project requirements.Generally, thegraduate student assistant will provide support for activities such as:

  • developing,implementing,updating, and/or providing feedback onprogramandsupport materials (e.g., resource documents);

  • doing literature reviews and environmental scans;

  • communicating with various stakeholders (e.g., facilitators, participants);

  • summarizing information used for planning and evaluation;

  • developing and implementing data gathering instruments (e.g., interviews, surveys)andassistingwith analysis;

  • developing and implementing teaching support activities (e.g., workshops; learning exchanges);

  • preparingproject documents and reports.

Skills/abilities required

  • Excellent information literacy skills (i.e., ability to define research terms; search online databases, journals, websites;prepare annotated bibliographies; and critically evaluate resources)

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills(in English)

  • Collaboration/teamwork and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work in a PC environment using word processing and spreadsheet applications
