It is the only hospital in Colorado to be rated by Medicare with five stars for overall hospital quality. It is recognized for excellence in orthopedic and spine surgery and for outstanding patient experience and patient safety. Mercy has also received ten consecutive 'A' grades for patient safety from The Leapfrog Group. Our providers use state-of-the-art technology in an environment designed to promote wellbeing and healing of body, mind, and spirit.
Among the many specialty services available at Mercy are emergency care (Level III trauma designation), surgical care, cardiac care (including interventional), Orthopedic and Spine Centers of Excellence, a Family Birthing Center, home care, hospice care more. OB Post-Partum
The OB Post-Partum department at Mercy Regional Medical Center is a 13-bed unit with about 80 deliveries a month. LDRP, circulate and PACU recovery for C-sections, antepartum, OB triage and outpatient procedures. We are the only Labor and Delivery unit in town, so we care for everyone low risk to high risk. We do not receive overflow from other departments. Our mission is to give everyone the birth experience they are looking for whether it is all-natural with our midwife group or a high-risk pregnancy with our OBGYN group and everything in between. Our team values one another and participates in activities both inside and outside of work.

This specialized nursing role combines clinical expertise with a focus on patient safety to provide high-quality care and support to pregnant women and their families, adhering to departmental, institutional, regional and Federal clinical and ethical standards. The perinatal safety nurse will participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance perinatal care processes and outcomes, contributing to a culture of safety within the healthcare facility.
As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will assume responsibility and accountability for:
  • Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
  • Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.

Job Requirements
In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified nursing candidates will need the following:
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing required
  • Master's degree or higher preferred

Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years as a clinician in Women's Services
  • A minimum of 1 years of project experience in Women and Infants Perinatal Safety with 2 years preferred
  • Experience with quality improvement/process improvement techniques, project/program management experience, required

Licenses/Certification Requirements
  • Current RN License in applicable State
  • Certification in one of the following (must obtain within 6 months): CCRN-NEO, C-EFM, RN-BC MCN, RN-BC-PERI, RNC [OB, GYN, NEONATAL], RNC-LRN, RNC-MNN, RNC-NIC, RNC-OB, C-EFM, CONQS
  • BLS
  • NRP within 90 days

Physical Requirements
  • Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
