Job description


Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our CNA, you will provide direct, compassionate patient care within our Assisted Living facility, significantly impacting the daily lives and well-being of our residents. You will be responsible for assisting with essential activities of daily living (ADLs), monitoring vital signs, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. 


Every day you will meticulously assist patients with bathing, oral care, feeding, ambulation, and transfer, ensuring their comfort and dignity. You will monitor and accurately record patient vital signs, weight, positioning, ADLs, I&O, and blood glucose readings, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff or physician. 


To be successful in this role, you will have completed a C.N.A. program and possess a current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA:AZ) certification in Arizona. You must also hold current Basic Life Support (BLS-CPR) and First Aid (FAC) certifications. 

  • Assists with patient admission, discharge and transfer
  • Collects laboratory specimens according to hospital protocol, maintaining hospital standard of zero tolerance for mislabeled specimens
  • Assists the nurse/physician during examinations, treatments and procedures as requested
  • Retrieves necessary equipment and supplies
  • Assists in patient/equipment preparation
  • Performs follow-up actions as directed
Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Completion of C.N.A. program
  • Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of Arizona
  • American Heart Association
    • Basic Life Support 
    • First Aid card

Preferred

  • Six (6) months acute care C.N.A. experience

Huger Mercy Living Center in Phoenix provides a state-of-the-art dementia care program within a homelike, five-acre campus, founded by Dr. Raymond Huger and operated by St. Joseph's Hospital. This assisted-living facility offers 24-hour expert care for 48 residents housed in four cottages, grouped by activity and functional level. Every detail is carefully crafted to accommodate the special needs of those with dementia, overseeing medical care by a dedicated team. Through a social, activity-based model, Huger fosters dignity, interaction, and cognitive engagement with varied activities and community involvement.
