Managing Counsel, Merchant Services

About your role:

As a Managing Counsel you will provide legal support to our sales and business teams within Fiserv's Merchant Solutions division. This support will involve drafting and negotiating commercial agreements with clients and other strategic partners; providing guidance to sales, product and technology leaders on legal matters; and collaborating closely with company specialists regarding products, operations, technology, data privacy, security and regulatory matters.

What you'll do:

  • Draft, review and negotiate complex client, partner and other commercial agreements.
  • Provide counsel on new product development and strategic initiatives.
  • Actively engage with subject matter specialists regarding finance, audit, tax, IT, regulatory, privacy and technology matters that affect the business division.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and applicable laws and regulations affecting the operations of the Merchant Solutions division.
  • Develop and maintain forms of contracts and other legal documentation.

You'll need to have:

  • 8+ years of general transactional legal experience.
  • License to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction and in good standing, with ability to obtain any additional required licensure promptly upon hire.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school, or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

How you'll work:

  • This role is on-site in our Wilmington, Delaware office or in our Fort Lauderdale, Florida area office, Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an important part of this role as in-person office experience helps you with your overall onboarding experience and career growth and leads to increased team productivity.
  • This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.
