Job description

U.S. Durum Milling (Richardson USA) is currently searching for a by-products merchant to join our team in St. Louis, Missouri.

This position is a key role to the success of the flour mill by sourcing destinations for all the by-products and maximizing revenue with diverse trading positions. Candidates must have commodities trading knowledge, excellent communication skills, and have a creative mindset to solve unique issues.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Sell the wheat middlings and second clear flour.
  • Manage a specific long/short trading position using outside markets as well as futures contracts.
  • Work closely with the flour sales team to obtain price objectives.
  • Maintain and grow the customer base.
  • Work with the operations and transportation teams to ensure overall company objectives.
  • Negotiate and manage sales and purchase contracts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in an agriculture field, or other business degree
  • 2+ years experience in commodities merchandising, grain trading, agricultural sales, procurement, or a related commercial role
  • Strong understanding of commodity markets, pricing strategies, and risk management principles
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound business decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Operations, and Transportation
