Job description

Department: Retail Services 

Job Status: Full Time

FLSA Status: Exempt 

Reports To: Merchandiser Manager

Job Type: Non-Union 

Amount of Travel Required: Frequent travel from office to merchandising locations. Neighbor island travel on occasion.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, Nights, Weekends and holidays as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the support, supervision, coach, lead, motivate and train full time and part time Merchandisers for Hawaii Coffee Company. Assist with directing, administering and coordinating the day to day activities of the Retail Sales Services department to achieve the company’s goals and ensure standards of merchandising. The Mechandiser Supervisor will be a competent individual who is able to coach employees and is result driven and focused. 


 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

Essential Functions Statement(s)

 

  • Regular attendance as required.
  • Establish and maintain Customer rapport by providing outstanding customer service.
  • Assists with maintaining and enforcing departmental and company’s policies and procedures.
  • Assists in training and developing team with new and existing programs.
  • Assists in setting performance goals and deadlines.
  • Provides administrative assistance for department.
  • Ensure employee’s understanding of organized workflow and duties.
  • Shares communications between team and management.
  • Creates and maintain reports to monitor department activities.
  • Reassigns routes as needed to ensure proper coverage to retail accounts.
  • Ensures integrity of displays in all assigned account locations.
  • Ensures shelf compliance in all assigned account locations.
  • Conducts periodic route inspections to ensure standards of merchandising and schematic compliance.
  • Correctly and promptly follow specified company procedures required for the appropriate handling of all Emergency Responses and Safety practices.
  • Assists in hiring and training of Sales/Service Associates.
  • Assists with annual evaluations of Sale/ Service Associates.
  • Ensures adherence to legal and company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions if the need arises.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.



Other Functions:

  • Monitor team productivity.
  • Maintain timekeeping and personnel records.
  • Assists with resets at retail and military accounts.
  • Maintain weekly department schedules for Part Time Merchandisers.
  • Maintain monthly department schedules for Full Time Merchandisers.
  • Regular attendance is required for this position.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Experience: Minimum of 3 years Retail business, preferably in a management role but not required. Highly organized and analytical Strong Oral and written skills. Valid Hawaii state driver’s license, personal vehicle, and auto insurance required. Must be able to pass military background clearance for service to military accounts on military bases

 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business preferred

High School diploma or equivalent required

 

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. 

 

Language: Well-developed verbal and written English communication skills.
