Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to perform validation on our customer remediation events. This data-driven role performs validation in accordance with the Customer Remediation Policy. Data is pulled from various sources including but not limited to SQL Server, Oracle, Netezza, PostgreSQL, SAS, and others. The data is then compared to data from our partners to challenge outcomes and verify accuracy and completeness. Success is measured through adherence to established process timeliness, testing and challenge quality, and a strong partnered approach to ensure rapid remediation turnaround.

Position Highlights

  • Performing analysis of data from Customer Remediation Events in accordance with the Customer Remediation Policy

  • Using SQL database queries to pull data from SQL Server, Oracle, and Netezza, the analyst utilizes tools such as SAS, Excel, Toad, pgAdmin, Visual Studio Code or similar data tools to transform and analyze the data

  • Using data to compare to an initial population created by the business to challenge the accuracy and completeness of the initial population as well as the remediation calculations and totals

  • Once population consensus is reached, partnering with the business to work through the remaining milestones and through the remainder of the remediation process until the event is completed

  • Executing population and milestone testing during validation of customer remediation events

  • Reviewing and testing remediation population data to validate complete and accurate remediation populations and calculations are provided to customers

  • Providing critical challenge of business line data processes while ensuring comprehensive population and calculation data

  • Credibly challenging data extraction, population verification, and financial calculations

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Typically more than six years of applicable experience


Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of SQL performing queries to extract and transform data from multiple database sources and structures

  • Experience with Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Netezza

  • Proficiency with SAS Enterprise Guide- Extracting, transforming, analyzing, and presenting data

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge- Ability to manipulate and modify data through formulas and BI tools required

  • Power Query and VBA

  • Two or more years of experience in testing, audit, and/or an applicable risk management environment

  • Knowledge of PCS, CPTS, and/or MPS systems and merchant processing and/or retail credit experience

  • Strong team player with the ability to work well under minimal direct supervision while managing multiple simultaneous projects


Hybrid/flexible schedule

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $105,400.00 - $124,000.00
