Job description

The PENTA Building Group is looking for an MEP Superintendent to join our Hard Rock Casino Tejon team in Mettler, CA (Bakersfield)!
A PENTA MEP Project Superintendent is responsible for the effective management of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems field operations on the project. The MEP Superintendent will utilize their knowledge and expertise of MEP systems to collaborate with the Project Manager and project team in assisting with the management and coordination of MEP subcontractors and resolving any issues that arise.
 
A PENTA MEP Superintendent will also:
  • Review and interpret MEP drawings and specifications to identify potential conflicts or design issues.  
  • Provide technical guidance to MEP subcontractors on installation methods, material selection, and quality control.  
  • Set guidelines and procedures to verify compliance with design documents and building codes.  
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as VDC team, to ensure proper integration of MEP systems.  
  • Manage MEP subcontractors, including selection, contract negotiation, and performance monitoring.  
  • Conduct regular meetings with MEP subcontractors to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions.  
  • Develop and maintain MEP project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones.  
  • Track MEP costs and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.  
  • Address and resolve MEP related issues that arise during the project.  
  • Review and address MEP subcontractor concerns (safety, access, etc.) on a daily basis and make timely corrections. 
  • Attend all pre-installation meetings and make sure that MEP subcontractors are properly prepared. 
  • Perform quality checks on MEP installations to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.  
  • Participate in MEP subcontractor de-scope meetings. 
  • Maintain frequent communication with Project Manager and project team, architects, and other stakeholders.  
  • Create clear and concise project PENTA daily reports. Participate in collection of MEP subcontractor daily reports as required for project verification requirements.  
  • Participate in weekly safety meetings/quarterly stand-downs/monthly safety meetings.  
  • Other duties as assigned. 
We trust that you have: 
  • 5+ years of experience in a Construction Superintendent role, or minimum 10+ years equivalence working in a General Foreman or field related management position
  • Minimum 3 years of experience focused in MEP scopes
  • OSHA 10 or 30 Certification
  • Fluency in reading, quantifying, and analyzing construction drawings
  • Competent understanding of construction scheduling and sequencing
  • Strong verbal and written communication, and strong organizational and time management
  • Flexibility and eagerness to embrace new technology and tools in the industry
  • Ability to work on-site at our Tejon Hard Rock Casino jobsite in Mettler, CA. Or, flexibility to travel to or fully relocate for this project if not within a reasonable local commuting distance.
  • Salary Range DOE $100,000 - $140,000
 
The PENTA Building Group maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs, and market demands. The pay range may differ in other locations. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors and is in good faith and/or offer for this position. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.
