Position Summary: The Server provides fast, friendly and efficient service by suggestively selling menu items, taking orders and ensuring guests receive great service throughout their meal and collecting payment.  

Sea Palms Resort features 123 rooms, an 18 hole golf course, and a full service on-site restaurant. Nestled in the heart of St. Simons Island, our marshfront resort is a sanctuary of tranquility, designed to provide an escape from the ordinary and a gateway to unforgettable memories. Essential Job Functions 

  • Greet guests, explains menu items/specials using concise and descriptive language
  • Listens and responds to guest’s needs
  • Suggestively sells menu items to include appetizers, drinks, entrees and desserts 
  • Promptly and accurately relays guest orders to kitchen staff
  • Picks up and delivers orders to appropriate guests within prescribed time limits, ensuring accuracy of the order
  • Returns to the table throughout the guest’s visit to ask if they are satisfied, check for refills, clear items as needed from the table and deliver guest check when appropriate
  • Assist bartenders or other servers as needed
  • Performs side duties such as cleaning, rolling silverware, setting tables, sweeping, etc
  • Maintains restaurants/station in a clean and presentable manner at all times
  • Complies with all health and safety regulations

Experience and Education: 

Two years’ experience as server in hotels, restaurants, or related fields 

Prior experience as server, busser, runner, host(ess) preferred

Front of House proficiency

Proficient in POS Systems, Aloha, Micros, etc or similar computer applications

Certifications as required by Federal, State, or Local agencies
ServSafe, TIPS Certification preferred or ability to obtain

Minimum High school diploma, GED or equivalent
