Overview:ย The Doorโ€™s missionย is to empower young adults to reach their full potential by providing comprehensive youth development services in a diverse and caring environment.ย ย The Doorย is an unparalleled model for youth development, offering a comprehensive range of integrated services within a single site forย up toย eleven thousand New York City youth each year. At The Door, youth can access mental health counseling and crisisย assistance,ย health care and education,ย legalย assistance, college preparation services, career development, housing supports, arts, sports and recreational activities, and nutritious meals โ€“ all for free and under one roof. By providing participants with our suite of integrated services, weย seekย to provide any motivated young person with the tools, resources, and opportunities needed to successfully transition to adulthood.ย 

As part of theย Counseling Centerย leadership team, theย Operationsย  Manager,ย Mentalย Healthย Servicesย willย manageย areas ofย administrationย andย operationsย forย the Counseling Center,ย Psychiatryย services,ย and Care Coordination services.ย ย ย Theย Operations Manager, Mental Health Servicesย willย be responsible forย quality assurance, quality improvement,ย and compliance activities, and special projects forย mental health services.ย ย ย ย ย 

Responsibilities:ย 

  • Overseeย areas ofย administration and operations forย theย Counseling Center, includingย timelyย customer service,ย appointmentย scheduling,ย clientย registration,ย client outreach, and database managementย ย 

  • Respondย efficientlyย to incoming phone calls, emails,ย andย patient portalย messages, address general inquiries about services,ย and makeย appropriate referralsย 

  • Hire, onboard, supervise and complete performance evaluations forย administrative support staff, as well as volunteers and internsย 

  • Plan agendas andย facilitateย staff meetings, team huddles, board meetings,ย and staff trainingย ย 

  • Maintainย adequate office and program supplies, including petty cash and metro card allotments,ย forย multiple programs within the Counseling unit.ย ย ย 

  • Manage the Counseling Centerโ€™s electronic health record, ensuring the system works with the documentation and data collection needs of the departmentย 

  • Collaborate with Revenue Cycleย Directorย toย ensure insurance verification,ย coding,ย and documentation,ย to supportย timelyย andย accurateย billingย forย mental health servicesย 

  • Organize and manage quality assuranceย and quality improvementย activitiesย forย theย Counseling Centerย as required byย New York State Office of Mental Health Articleย 31ย (MHOTRS), including the Incident Review Committeeย 

  • Manage credentialing systems for theย Counseling Center and Psychiatry; and ensuring compliance with federal and state agencies, insurance plans, fundingย sourcesย and other regulatory bodiesย 

  • Supportย operations for psychiatry services including work scheduling, meetings, invoices, and contractor agreements.ย ย 

  • Serve asย a coordinatorย forย mentalย health grants,ย by supportingย the Managing Director,ย Development staff andย otherย leadershipย with grantย proposals,ย reports, andย funding requirements, andย participateย in meetingsย ย 

  • Createย monthly, quarterly, and annual statistical reportsย forย counseling, psychiatry, and collaborative care services.ย ย ย 

  • Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary staff in cross-departmental efforts to increase services to specific youth populations and provideย appropriate supportย for young peopleย 

  • Participate in special projects and performย other duties as delegated by supervisorย 

Qualificationsย andย Requirements:ย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degreeย requiredย in health care administration, social work, publicย administration,ย or related fieldย ย ย ย ย 

  • MSW preferredย 

  • Previousย supervisory experienceย requiredย 

  • Minimum ofย 2ย yearsย ofย experienceย inย administration,ย operations, and/or quality assurance inย mental health, behavioral health,ย health care,ย or human service settingย 

  • Experience in a NYSOMH Article 31 (MHOTRS) facility desiredย ย ย 

  • Knowledge of medical billing and the NYS Medicaid systems strongly preferredย 

  • Tech savvy and highly skilled in Microsoft Office (Outlook,ย Share Point,ย Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Zoom, and other softwareย ย 

  • Experience withย eClinicalWorksย (eCW)ย or another electronic health record strongly preferredย 

  • Knowledgeableย ofย positiveย youth development principlesย desiredย 

  • Ability to work independently,ย demonstrateย sound judgment, multitask,ย and take initiativeย ย 

  • Ability toย demonstrateย exceptional organizationalย skillsย andย people skillsย ย 

  • Strongย writing,ย speakingย and telephone communication skillsย ย 

  • Proficiencyย in Spanishย stronglyย desiredย ย 

Hours: ย 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

Salary:ย $65,000 - $70,000 annuallyย
