Title: Locker Room Attendant – Men's Locker Room

Hourly Rate: $15 hourly

Location: Manakin Sabot, VA 23103

Hermitage Country Club is seeking a professional, dependable Men's Locker Room Attendant to provide exceptional service to our members and guests while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming locker room environment. This position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and respect for member privacy.

Position Summary and Bona Fide Occupational Qualification

The Men's Locker Room Attendant is responsible for providing outstanding service to members and guests while maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall operation of the men's locker room and assigned clubhouse areas. This position ensures member satisfaction by delivering courteous service and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety.

The duties of this position require continuous presence and direct assistance within the Men’s Locker Room, including in spaces where members and guests are changing or unclothed. Because of the privacy concerns in a same-sex locker room, federal law allows an employer to consider gender as a bona fide occupational qualification when staffing these position. Accordingly, Hermitage Country Club has established that only male applicants meet the bona fide occupational qualification necessary for this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Member Services

Welcome and greet members and guests in a friendly and professional manner.

Issue lockers, keys, towels, and other amenities.

Maintain a clean, organized, and secure locker room environment.

Assist members and guests with locker room needs while ensuring privacy and confidentiality.

Monitor locker room areas to maintain a safe and secure environment.

Cleaning and Facility Maintenance

Clean and sanitize locker rooms, showers, steam rooms, saunas, restrooms, and changing areas.

Vacuum carpets, mop floors, and dust furniture and fixtures.

Clean walls, baseboards, windows, mirrors, brass fixtures, glass surfaces, counters, shelves, desks, and door handles.

Empty trash and recycling containers throughout assigned areas.

Restock restroom and locker room supplies.

Clean employee restrooms, pool changing rooms, and golf course restrooms.

Maintain the cleanliness of clubhouse entrances, walkways, patios, and exterior areas by removing debris and cobwebs.

Clean HVAC vents, elevators, stairwells, landings, and light fixtures.

Conduct deep-cleaning projects as assigned.

Report maintenance issues, plumbing concerns, or damaged equipment promptly.

Replace light bulbs as needed.

Transport soiled linens and towels to designated laundry areas.

Take trash to dumpsters.

Shoe Care Services

Clean and maintain members' golf shoes.

Replace spikes and shoelaces as needed.

Shine shoes and return them promptly to members.

Additional Responsibilities

Maintain appropriate inventories of towels, linens, and locker room supplies.

Coordinate supply needs with the Purchasing Department.

Follow all Club policies, safety procedures, and emergency protocols.

Attend departmental meetings and training sessions.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper.

Qualifications

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented.

Ability to communicate effectively with members, guests, and fellow employees.

Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and climb stairs.

Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

Perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.

Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions as needed.
