Job description

Palmetto Bluff is nestled along the May River in the Lowcountry of South Carolina between Hilton Head Island and Savannah. As an award winning 20,000 acre development, the development encompasses a private member’s only club which includes a marina, restaurants, an equestrian center, a shooting club, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, The Crossroads Reversable King Collins Golf Course, Anson Point Golf Course designed by Coore and Crenshaw, a lawn and racquet club, a community farm, and more.  In addition, Palmetto Bluff has an extensive nature preserve, walking trails, retail shopping, art gallery, and a vibrant village, all which pay homage to the region’s rich heritage.

Job Summary: 

The Locker Room Attendant is responsible for the overall look and feel of the Men’s and Women’s Locker Rooms, Comfort Stations (sans f&b), and the cleanliness of the outdoor furniture.  The Locker Room Attendant will deliver an exceptional first impression by providing exceptional member and guest service. Will always ensure a consistently high level of member/guest satisfaction and pride at the Palmetto Bluff Golf Club.  The Locker Room Attendant serves as an ambassador for Palmetto Bluff by engaging members and guests when they visit the property to play or practice golf.   This role requires the Attendant to take care of the member and guest by carrying and cleaning their shoes, maintaining the restroom facilities, comfort stations, and outdoor spaces around the Club.

Essential Job Functions:

Job duties include, although are not limited to:

  • Maintain proper par levels of shoe care and bathroom amenities.
  • Clean the comfort stations mid-day each day.
  • Clean shoes for members and guests.
  • Wipe down outdoor furniture each morning.
  • Communicate needs for repair to the Head Golf Professional and/or Director of Golf for quick resolve.
  • Engage members in casual conversation and make them feel at home.
  • Work closely with the housekeeping department to ensure we have plenty of supplies for the day/week.
Qualifications:
  • Must be able to communicate to members and guests. 
  • Must be able to communicate in English, both written and spoken. 
  • Must be able to operate simple cleaning machines.
  • Must be able to operate a golf cart.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, accuracy, and courtesy with a minimum of supervision.

Physical Demands: 

  • Most work tasks are performed indoors. 
  • Temperature generally is moderate and controlled by environmental systems.
  • Must be able to lift 20lbs.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different outlets and other departments of the Club on a timely basis.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Talking and listening occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
  • Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed.
