Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our CS Tech, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient processing and distribution of essential supplies and equipment, directly contributing to the smooth operation of our organization.
Every day, you will perform duties in alignment with our organizational mission and policies, meticulously following established protocols for the processing and distribution of supplies and equipment. You will also actively contribute to our performance improvement plan, ensuring compliance with all other relevant licensing, accrediting, and regulatory agencies.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a strong ability to learn quickly, meticulously follow detailed instructions, and rapidly acquire the technical skills necessary to consistently produce the required finished results.

  • Must complete assignments assigned daily, including decontamination, sterilization, Prep Room, crash carts, surgery case carts, surgery center core supply carts, equipment, telephone, inventory system (ESI), ordering of inventory or non-inventory supplies. Must demonstrate flexibility by prioritizing tasks to finish assigned assignments.
  • Must properly relieve inventory from the storage room by properly entering issues into the Materials Management Inventory system (ESI). Processes all returns in a timely manner. Reports all discrepancies to Supervisor.
  • Participates in weekly cycle counts and annual inventory
  • Must be able to receive incoming supplies and check in using proper procedure, remove items from outside cartons, place on utility carts, and transport to the sterile storage area for proper stickering and rotation
  • Must answer the phone courteously and professionally, and fill requests accurately and timely. Computer orders must be filled accurately and within 20 minutes. 15 minutes for stat items; item number and employee's initials must be documented on all TPA orders and requisitions.

This position is represented by CHEU and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

  • High School GED General Studies required
  • Minimum of 3 years of Central Service experience, Sterile Processing, or
  • 1 year of experience and registered CSTechnician/ Sterile Processing Technician.
