Job SummaryThe Unit Secretary attends nursing station and performs clerical duties, requisition supplies, equipment and services as directed.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED (Required) Non Degree Program in Medical Terminology Course or unit secretary certificate program (Preferred) Work Experience0 - 1 year Clerical work experience demonstrating proficient computer, phone and office equipment utilization (Required) 0 - 1 year Experience in a Health Care Setting (Preferred) Licenses and CertificationsEmergency Center Employees: Crisis Response Training required within 6 months of hire (Required) Behavioral Health Employees: Crisis Response Training required within 2 months of hire (Required) Essential FunctionsAdditional DutiesAdheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization.Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs).Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
