The Department Secretary for the 7W Medical Surgical Unit at UM BWMC plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient administrative operations of the unit. This position requires a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple tasks, support nursing staff, and facilitate communication within the department. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Nursing 7W Medical Surgical Unit, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and handling correspondence.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external communications related to the unit.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including patient files, staff schedules, and departmental documentation.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of reports, memos, and other official documents.
- Coordinate with nursing staff, physicians, and other hospital departments to facilitate efficient workflow and patient care.
