Job description

The Washington Spirit is seeking an Account Manager, Membership Service who will play a key role in driving Season Ticket Member retention through exceptional service and relationship management. This position is focused on building authentic, long-term relationships with members while delivering a best-in-class experience that strengthens loyalty and engagement across our fan base.

This role is responsible for managing an assigned book of business, executing renewal strategies, and identifying opportunities to generate additional revenue through upselling, cross-selling, and referrals. The Account Manager will serve as a primary point of contact for members, ensuring a seamless and personalized experience throughout the season and beyond.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, relationship-driven professional with a passion for sports, a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Membership Service amp; Retention

  • Drive Season Ticket Member retention through proactive communication and consistent engagement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships through outbound calls, in-person interactions, matchdays, and exclusive events
  • Execute the annual membership renewal campaign and support retention initiatives
  • Respond to member inquiries, concerns, and requests within 24 business hours

Revenue Growth amp; Sales

  • Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, add-ons, and referrals to drive incremental revenue
  • Generate new business through prospecting, networking, and outreach efforts
  • Meet or exceed individual and team sales and prospecting goals

Member Experience amp; Engagement

  • Educate members on all benefits, programs, rewards, and exclusive experiences
  • Assist in the planning and execution of member events and engagement initiatives throughout the year
  • Deliver a personalized and premium experience that enhances long-term loyalty

Relationship Management amp; CRM

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all member interactions and account activity within CRM systems
  • Execute touchpoint strategies in collaboration with Ticketing Leadership and Business Intelligence teams
  • Ensure all client profiles and engagement history are consistently up to date

Matchday amp; Event Responsibilities

  • Attend all home matches and support operations in Season Ticket Member areas
  • Participate in matchday activations, events, and other organizational initiatives as needed

Qualifications amp; Experience:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • 1–2 years of experience in sports, entertainment, or a related customer-facing role preferred
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
  • Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and proactive with a positive attitude
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred

  • Experience working in professional or collegiate sports
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems such as Archtics and Ticketmaster

Location:

This role is based in Falls Church, VA, with a hybrid work structure and frequent presence at matches and events in Washington, DC.
