Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for leading the organization's Commercial Sales division and driving new business growth through strategic sales leadership, pipeline management and broker engagement. This role directly oversees the Commercial Sales team and is accountable for achieving new membership and revenue goals, developing sales strategies, expanding distribution opportunities and ensuring excellence throughout the entire sales lifecycle.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the Commercial Sales team in achieving annual membership, revenue, and new business growth objectives.
  • Develop and execute commercial sales strategies including market planning, pipeline development, lead generation, territory management, and sales execution.
  • Manage the commercial sales lifecycle, including prospect identification, lead generation, pipeline management, proposal development, contract negotiation, implementation, and post-sale transition.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on key sales performance metrics including pipeline health, forecasting, close ratios, broker activity and quota attainment through CRM.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with broker partners, consultants, employer groups and community organizations to expand market presence and generate new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with broker partners to educate and promote products, provider networks, pricing strategies, and value proposition through broker meetings, training programs, industry events, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Analyze market activity, industry trends, and customer needs to provide strategic recommendations regarding products, pricing, network offerings, and sales strategies.
  • Develop and execute targeted sales campaigns, business development initiatives and market strategies aligned with organizational growth priorities.
  • Lead, coach and develop the Commercial Sales team; establish performance expectations and succession planning.
  • Perform other related job-related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies that drive membership and revenue growth.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills with the ability to build a high-performing sales culture.
  • Excellent consultative selling, relationship management, negotiation, and business development skills.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships across all organizational levels and influence stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and public speaking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle Check.
  • Must have a current driver's license and vehicle insurance verification.
  • Successful completion of Health Care Sanctions background check.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible sales, business development or account management experience, preferably within the health insurance or healthcare industry.
  • Previous work experience with insurance companies, employer groups and agent/brokers.
  • Licensed Life and Health insurance agent in state of Oklahoma OR ability to obtain license within 45 days after hire date.
