Typical working hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Fridays

FLSA Status: Hourly, non-exempt


Work Location: Nashville, Tennessee (this is not a remote position)


Role Overview:

Provide expert support and monitoring/feedback to member service teams in the areas of account qualification/opening and lending. Verify new accounts and new loans are opened correctly and related documentation is complete and accurate. Ensure that new accounts and loans comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies. Perform necessary tasks related to deceased member accounts and returned mail processing.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • 55% - Review all new consumer loan files and related documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies. Notify member services team members and supervisors of exceptions and monitor to ensure corrections are completed in a timely manner. Prepare reports on findings for management review.
  • 20% - Review all new membership/account files and related documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies. Notify member services team members and supervisors of exceptions and monitor to ensure corrections are completed in a timely manner. Prepare reports on findings for management review.
  • 10% - Review documentation for new membership/account opening for all specialized account types (i.e. Business, Fiduciary, Trust) prior to opening. Identify missing, incomplete, and/or incorrect documents. Provide timely feedback and account opening instructions to member service teams.
  • 5% - Assist with deceased member process. Review system reports, account records, and related documentation. Communicate relevant information and instructions to other team members.
  • 5% - Returned Mail: Process all returned mail in a timely manner. Update system records to reflect bad addresses. Prepare fee list for branch/service center employee processing. When possible, send change of address notices to members.
  • 5% - Make a positive contribution to the credit union team effort by performing other duties as may be assigned from time to time.


Additional Information:

Will be required to complete necessary training and exams to earn the following two designations from America’s Credit Unions within 180 days.

  • Certified Bank Secrecy Act Professional (CBSAP)™
  • Certified Credit Union Compliance Officer (CUCO)™

Qualifications:

  • Previous banking or credit union experience in new account opening or consumer lending required
  • High school diploma or GED required; two-year college degree preferred
  • Able to pass a background check and a drug screen
  • Candidate must successfully pass an employment credit check. Any current delinquencies or bankruptcies still showing on the credit report may result in failure of the check. The review may include, but is not limited to, past due items, late payments, unpaid charge-offs, collections (non-medical), judgments, bankruptcies, repossessions, and foreclosures.
