Key Responsibilities
  • Implement lesson plans and learning activities provided by the primary Learning Guide

  • Support learners in staying on task and engaged in their work
  • Uphold school-wide systems, including routines, transitions, and behavior expectations
  • Build positive relationships with learners and staff
  • Communicate effectively with school leadership and staff regarding classroom updates or concerns
  • Ensure accurate attendance and follow all school procedures

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience working with youth)
  • Prior experience working with middle or high school learners strongly preferred
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible, responsive, and solution-oriented in dynamic environments
  • Alignment with The Meliora School's mission, values, and learner-centered approach

Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching certification (not required)
  • Experience in mastery-based, project-based, or student-centered learning environments
  • Background in working with diverse learners, including students with specialized needs

Compensation
  • Daily rate: Competitive and based on experience
  • Opportunities for long-term placements and potential future full-time roles

Why Join Meliora
  • Be part of a founding team building something innovative and community-centered
  • Work in a collaborative, mission-driven environment
  • Gain experience in a mastery-based, forward-thinking school model
  • Make a meaningful impact on learners and their educational experience

How to Apply
Interested candidates should submit a resume and a brief statement of interest outlining their experience and alignment with The Meliora School's mission.
