City: West Lafayette
Job Description:
Job Summary
The Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, invites applications for a full-time (12-month) Clinical or Tenure-Track position in Cardiology at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The successful candidate will join an established clinical service, which includes one tenured faculty, one tenure-track faculty, three nurses, and four cardiology residents.
Details
Our comparative cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology service is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including digital ECG, GE Vivid E95 echocardiography with a digital database and three review stations, portable GE Vivid iq, pediatric and adult 4D TEE probes, and Medtronic and St. Jude/Abbott pacemaker programmers. We also offer hemostatic assays, including thromboelastography and platelet aggregometry.
The service operates a dedicated 650 ft² stand-alone interventional catheterization lab with advanced technology, such as an invasive hemodynamic recording system, cardiac output computers, and a Philips Zenition 70 Pulsera digital flat panel detector C-arm. Recently, we upgraded to a state-of-the-art cardiac EP lab featuring the Abbott EnSite System, which includes a next-generation 3D mapping platform and in-person support from mappers and collaborating MDs in Indianapolis.
We handle a high volume of interventional cases, approximately 70-100 annually. Our strong relationships with local referring veterinarians, breeders and rescue groups lead to a significant caseload focused on screening, diagnosing, and managing animals with congenital cardiac defects.
The Purdue University Veterinary Hospital has completed a major expansion project. Encompassing 162,500 square feet, the new David and Bonnie Brunner Purdue Veterinary Medical Hospital Complex includes three components located just east of the existing Lynn Hall of Veterinary Medicine:
• The David and Bonnie Brunner Small Animal Hospital (adding 65,000 square feet to the existing small animal
hospital facilities in Lynn Hall)
• The David and Bonnie Brunner Equine Hospital
• The David and Bonnie Brunner Farm Animal Hospital
The new complex provides state of the art teaching facilities dedicated to educating the next generation of veterinary professionals, enabling faculty to provide top quality compassionate animal health care, and serve as a catalyst for interdisciplinary clinical research.

Individuals currently in an ACVIM or ECVIM approved training program and with an interest in an academic career are encouraged to apply. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. A background check will be required for employment in this position.
