Job description

Weโ€™re hiring a MedTech Business Development Manager for a fast-growing company with a strong culture who believes that building relationships is just as critical as closing deals. Could it be you?

CMD MedTech is a consulting firm in Columbus, Ohio focused on helping innovative medical device companies get their products to marketโ€ฆ and keep them there. Our team thrives on collaboration, integrity, and follow-through.

Weโ€™re looking for a Business Development Manager who brings a strategic mindset, a genuine relationship-building style, and the confidence to represent CMD in a highly technical, highly regulated industry. You donโ€™t need to be an engineerโ€”but you do need to speak the language of people who build lifeโ€‘changing devices.

Weโ€™re looking for someone who knows how to open doors, nurture relationships, and create opportunities that align with CMDโ€™s strengths and values. How will we know youโ€™re the perfect match?

  • Youโ€™re energized by meeting new people and building longโ€‘term relationships, not just closing deals.
  • You can navigate conversations with engineers, executives, and founders with equal ease.
  • Youโ€™re comfortable representing CMD at conferences, trade shows, and industry events.
  • Youโ€™re organized, disciplined, and known for following up and following through.
  • You can identify highโ€‘quality opportunities and shape them into wellโ€‘scoped engagements.
  • You value integrity and transparency โ€” no shortcuts, no surprises.
  • You thrive in an environment where hard work and outcomes are rewarded and directly tied to your success.
  • You understand the medical device ecosystem and the challenges companies face with design controls, regulatory submissions, and EU MDR.
  • Youโ€™re excited to help CMD grow in a way that strengthens our culture and our impact.
How weโ€™ll know itโ€™s working:

We believe in clarity, transparency, and shared success. Together, weโ€™ll track:

  • New leads generated
  • Number of new customers onboarded
  • Number of repeat engagements per client
What you bring:
  • 5โ€“10 years of business development, sales, or account management experienceโ€”ideally in medical devices, life sciences, or engineering/regulatory consulting
  • A genuine ability to build trust with technical buyers
  • A proven track record of growing relationships over time
  • Confidence and presence at industry eventsโ€”you work a room naturally
  • Strong organizational habits and reliable followโ€‘through
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A strong network in the medical device industry
  • Columbusโ€‘based, with willingness to travel (25โ€“40%)
Why CMD?
  • Realโ€‘world patient and caregiver impactโ€”your work helps bring safer, better devices to market
  • A team that values integrity, growth, and genuine collaboration
  • Direct access to leadership and autonomy to build something meaningful
  • Competitive salary, bonus, 401(k), health, life, PTO, and more
