Job Description

Location:    Devens, MA

Schedule:   Full-time
Shift:          Evening shift available Units: Children, Adolescent and Young Adult 

Responsibilities:
The Mental Health Counselor, under the supervision of the Nursing Director, is responsible for maintaining a safe therapeutic milieu grounded in the TaraVista Health Treatment Center mission and core principles. As a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team the Mental Health Counselor contributes to each patient's individual treatment plan by helping develop, implement, and document appropriate goals and interventions, informed by patient strengths and presenting psychiatric problems.

Qualifications

Qualifications:


Bachelor's Degree in Mental Health, Human Services or other field as approved by hiring manager.  Additional qualifications
 Effective oral and written communication skills
 Ability to develop a therapeutic relationship while maintaining professional boundaries
 Knowledgeable in the area of psychiatric diagnosis and treatment modalities
 Ability to develop appropriate treatment interventions based on developmental needs and/or delays
 Ability to manage stressful situations in a calm, organized, and professional manner Sufficient typing and computer skills to facilitate use of Electronic Health Record required; experience with Electronic Health Record, including Medsphere/Vista preferred
