Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Medical Technologist (Med Tech) for a top Healthcare client.

This crucial laboratory role performs stat and routine clinical testing across multiple disciplines, including Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Hematology, under the direction of laboratory leadership. The Technologist applies theoretical concepts using independent judgment to ensure the timely and accurate release of results, maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance and quality in all operations.
Job Responsibilities

  • Perform timely and accurate stat and routine clinical laboratory testing across licensed technical disciplines (Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology).
  • Utilize independent judgment and theoretical concepts to interpret and correlate patient results, including performing delta checks and resolving pending logs.
  • Ensure strict adherence to written procedures, regulatory requirements, and quality control protocols, completing necessary documentation and corrective actions.
  • Operate all laboratory equipment correctly, perform periodic maintenance, and troubleshoot basic equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Assist supervisors in meeting departmental regulatory agency requirements (e.g., CAP) and maintaining supply inventories.
  • Maintain licensure, competency, and regulatory knowledge, supporting department goals for service, quality, and financial performance.
  • Handle all problem and/or critical laboratory specimens/test results according to established procedures and within established turnaround time targets.

Requirements

Education
  • Two (2) Year / Associate Degree is required.
  • Four (4) Year / Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology is preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Medical Technologist is required.
Certifications/Licenses
  • A State of Florida Technologist License is required OR the proven ability to obtain a license during the interview/onboarding process is mandatory.
  • Licensure, competency, and regulatory schedule must be maintained in Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Hematology sections.
Skills
  • Proven ability to use good judgment and independent thinking in the correlation and interpretation of patient results.
  • Proficiency in information system computer functions relative to job duties (e.g., reviewing OSR and result logs).
  • Strong organizational skills to perform duties consistent with documented procedures and regulatory requirements.
