Reports To: Director of Sales
Position Overview
Carneros Resort and Spa is seeking a passionate, driven, and relationship-focused Catering Sales Manager, Weddings to join our Sales & Catering team. This role is responsible for generating wedding and social event revenue by cultivating new business, creating exceptional client experiences, and guiding couples through every step of the sales process.
As the first impression of Carneros for many of our wedding clients, this individual serves as a trusted advisor, helping couples envision and bring their celebration to life while showcasing the resort's distinctive venues, culinary offerings, and personalized service. The ideal candidate is a polished sales professional with a passion for luxury hospitality, exceptional attention to detail, and a proven ability to exceed revenue goals through consultative selling and relationship building.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
  • Proactively solicit and secure wedding and social event business through prospecting, networking, referrals, industry partnerships, and lead generation.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries and convert qualified leads into confirmed wedding and event bookings.
  • Conduct personalized resort tours and venue presentations that inspire clients and showcase the Carneros experience.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed quarterly, and annual wedding and catering revenue goals.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline and actively pursue opportunities to maximize revenue and market share.

Client Experience & Relationship Management
  • Serve as a primary sales contact for wedding clients from initial inquiry through signed contract, providing exceptional service and timely communication throughout the planning process.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with couples, wedding planners, and industry partners to generate repeat business and referrals.
  • Create customized proposals and experiences that align with each client's vision while maximizing resort profitability.
  • Ensure a seamless transition to the Catering Event Management team following the contracting process.

Collaboration & Event Excellence
  • Partner closely with Catering Event Managers, Culinary, Banquets, Operations, Revenue Management, and Resort Leadership to ensure a smooth handoff and exceptional guest experience.
  • Participate in planning meetings, site visits, and other client-facing events as needed.
  • Represent Carneros Resort and Spa at bridal shows, networking events, industry functions, and community events to promote the resort and generate new business.

Administrative & Sales Management
  • Prepare accurate proposals, contracts, and related sales documentation in accordance with resort standards.
  • Maintain detailed client records, sales activities, and pipeline management within the resort's CRM system.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts, production reports, and market intelligence to the Director of Sales.
  • Stay informed on luxury wedding trends, competitive offerings, and Napa Valley market conditions to identify new sales opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of catering, wedding, or luxury hospitality sales experience, preferably within a resort or upscale hotel environment.
  • Demonstrated success achieving sales goals and driving revenue growth.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands.
