Job description

Biomerics specializes in the most challenging machined and micromachined components, including those used in interventional and medical robotics applications. Biomerics offers Swiss machining with integrated laser cutting on precision medical tubing. Laser/Swiss machining enables features to be machined, and laser cut in the same process. Our core competency lies in smaller medical components, produced with high accuracy and repeatability. Traditional Swiss screw machining capability is also available for rapid prototyping and production.
In addition, Biomerics utilizes five axis milling machines capable of producing complex finished components, while holding extremely tight tolerances.
Job Summary:
The Material Handler (Water Spider) is a newly created position tasked with keeping workstations fully stocked with materials, thus controlling the continuous flow of in-process product and to enhance the Labor Productivity & Efficiency of the operation. The general approach of the job is to accomplish Material Delivery to the Line and WIP Management. The goal of the job is to shorten the process lead time and reduce waste.
*Essential Responsibilities:
• Responsible for maintaining the efficient flow of material from inventory locations to the production line
• Pull material and/or kits and perform the verification that all materials are present in order for the production line to begin the job
• Manage the Visual Management (color indicators) of the carts with the appropriate color-coding scheme
• Manage WIP materials to ensure efficient flow between departments and operations
• Access master documentation to verify and ensure the most up to documentation is available and being used
• Transport segregated and non-conforming material to MRB location and perform system transactions as necessary.
• Transport finished goods from Production Line to Final Inspection
• At the beginning of each shift, ensure material is available at the production line
• Willing to be used as a "utility" player for the overall operations team and occasionally perform some duties outside the bounds of this description
Requirements
Qualifications:
• Previous production experience required (on the job training will be provided specific to product line)
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Team player
• Ability to read engineering drawings
• Organizational skills a must
